cederstroms on ice

ice skating

After putting it off for 2+ years, we finally caved in to the persistent reminding that we promised, and took the kids ice skating.

Dad didn’t have a ton of fun (rented skates and all), but for Paige and Taylor, it turned out to exceed expectations.

Mom managed to fall hard in the first 30 seconds or so, but only once.

Taylor was a pro and skated circles around us all. He’s done this before, you know. Exactly one time.

Paige started off slow, but was doing "tricks" before the day was done. She had a few falls, but quickly popped back up every time with a smile on her face.

Taylor and Paige hung together most of the time, and there was not an argument to be had. It was worth the money just for that alone.

Gabriel, excited at first, decided it was over before the first lap was completed. He put in a good effort, but sliding around with noodle legs is definitely over-rated. Popcorn on the sidelines with Daddy appeared to be the better way to go.

Cute post. I think the kids are more bundled up than we were when we went skiing last month. :)

What a great idea. I love ice skating. I will have to take my kiddos soon.

How fun! Those are some pretty nifty looking skates. Looks like you don't have to kill your fingers tightening those dumb laces anymore. That alone is worth going.

I have BEGGED my kids to go ice skating!! They have absolutely no interest in it (much to my dismay). I used to go EVERY weekend in my tween/teen (till 14) years. It was soooo much fun (Disco skating) that I think I just wanted to re-live my past through them...maybe I just need therapy.(?)(!)Glad your kids had fun!! (Can I come next time???)
