Paige and her daddy got all gussied up in matching attire recently - right down to matching caps (borrowed from her big brother). In our family we have tried to have frequent days out with each child individually. We have cleverly dubbed these "date days". So it's not clever, but it does the trick and it's easy to remember. The kids take turns and Todd and I alternate hosting, although usually the kids are sick of me anyway and would prefer to be with their daddy.
This last round was Paigey's, and she pleaded with her daddy to take her to a Diamondbacks game. Todd was reluctant, fearing that her attention span would be that of her mother's - I generally prefer to show up sometime in the 5th inning. But if you're going with Todd, you do it his way - all NINE innings. Paige even worked hard all week to earn 'points' granting her extras at the game. She preferred pizza and an icee over a pbj sandwich. They had a great time, which I think surprised them both. Paige was invited to sing and dance with the cheerleaders during the 7th inning stretch. They put the kids up on top of the dugout and sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame", of course. Todd said she came back grinning ear to ear.

But what really stood out about her date day?

Posing with the cheerleader. ?!? Paige "really liked her
blond hair".
