So, the tooth fairy is a repeat offender. For the last TWO nights, she has not come for Taylor's tooth. For the love! What's a kid gotta do to be compensated for a tooth? I think maybe he's a bit too quiet about it. He needs to make some big announcement before bedtime or something. He worked HARD to lose that tooth!
(BTW - how many teeth does the kid have, anyway?)

gypped
Last night the Tooth Fairy failed to come for Taylor's tooth!*Do you think she slept through her alarm?
*Did she forget to mapquest our address?
*Do you think it's because Taylor has capped out on the number of teeth he can be compensated for? Maybe she doesn't pay for molars.
*Do you think it's because the tooth was inside a plastic bag rather than a 'tooth pillow'?
*Do you think it's because it was left on the dresser instead of under his pillow?
**Or do you think the Tooth Fairy is just really, really lame?

goodbye dear friends
It all started innocently enough. I turned on the oven to bake some cookies for the kids' after school snack. As I'm putting the dough on the cookie sheet, I look to see Gabriel standing at the oven pointing and saying "Ah-oh".That can't be good.
As I head for the oven I start to smell something unidentifiable. Then I notice the smoke coming from the oven vents. Here's what we found:
Awww, Duckie and Grover!
I turned off the oven, made sure Gabriel was nowhere near the oven, and grabbed my camera (of course).
- Lately, Gabriel has decided that the oven was a good place to stash his friends. Previously, it had been the pretend kitchen oven, but it would seem they've graduated to the real thing. I witnessed the act once and made a 'note to self' to check the oven before I turned it on next time. Those 'notes to self' never work.
I paused long enough to take a picture and outside they went. All attempts at resuscitation failed. They are gone. I feel so guilty, I can't bear them looking at me this way.
RIP Duckie and Grover, you were good nighttime pals and oven hiders. Thanks for all the good times.***sidenote***
For those of you that live nearby - you may want to refrain from visiting for several days. Turns out that burnt synthetic animals smell terrible.

gratitude
I am grateful for washable markers.
Gabriel found some markers and decided to liven up the hallway with his mad coloring skills.
(We still have some of Paige's most precious artwork left on the walls in her room - obviously NOT done with washable markers.)
Who..., me?
On the bright side, though, it appears he's finally showing an interest in coloring.
