rollin’ down the river

er…, lake.

st1

This past week has been Spring Break for the kids. Their daddy was able to take a few days off work and hang out with the family. We took an afternoon to go to the lake. The water is too cold, of course, for us to swim or ski – but we packed a lunch and went exploring the canyon.

I LOVE the canyon, especially in the spring when the sun is not frying my brain and allowing me to enjoy this desert in which we choose to live. It’s always a disappointment when I see my pictures, because I really do think the lake is so much prettier than a camera can capture.

The weather was perfect. The kids had a great time together exploring, chasing butterflies, and dancing to our awesome 80’s lake mix cd. Unlike when we go to ski or tube, we took our time putting around and stopped at a cave for the kids to explore. It was a good way to kick off their week off of school.

that looks like lots of fun and i think the pictures do show how beautiful that lake is. i love the cliffs. i always loved just cruising the lake and discovering caves is a side of it you forget about when distracted by the water activities.

FUN. we went over four peaks this weekend and emma saw both saguaro and roosevelt lakes and all she wanted in the world was to get in!
