Last week our children had 2 days off school for their October Break.
It started off looking like this:
Can you believe it? Swimming mid-October? While some places are getting their first taste of snow, we are flirting with 95 degrees. The water was a smidge cool, but refreshing on a warm day. Gabriel was excited to break out the water wings again. But just a day or two later, mother nature cut us a break and we were able to enjoy some time outdoors that didn't require a bathing suit.
The kids had fun with their cousins at the park. What could be better than duck calls, hill surfing, tree climbing, hill rolling, Daddy time, and trains?
After our day at the park, temperatures dipped below 70 degrees and we wanted to snuggle up in blankets and drink hot chocolate (70 is practically freezing, you know). We brought all the kids home and watched "The Watcher in the Woods". Oooh, scary. ;) I hadn't actually watched it in about 25 years and crossed my fingers that I didn't have kids in bed with me all night. But, all went well and they enjoyed the "scary" movie.

very cute. the hill surfing looks super fun. i can't believe they watched watcher in the woods. that movie is so scary.
Looks like they had a great time. I like your format too.
watcher in the woods = terrible acting, just scary enough for the kids (not scary at all for the grown ups - nearly painful to watch)
faith, you probably saw it 20 years ago like i did.
the park looked fun, I so want to go hill surfing! Good, nice weather, family fun!
I couldn't even finish that movie when I was younger!
But I LOVE your pictures!!! Nice variation on ice blocking, too! You've probably told everyone already, but what program do you use?
tanya - missed you at the party (we could have worked out a carpool). watch the movie now, you'll be brave (it's so bad).
this was my first shot at using photoshop elements for my layouts. i refuse to actually read or watch a tutorial, so it's slow in coming. but i love it.
Ahhh.... don't you just ADORE Arizona?? I can't express how much I love it and it's weather. And yes, 70 degrees is DEFINITELY brrrrrr.... I don't know how I ever survived Provo. I am a DESERT RAT. ;) And your pictures are fabulous. :)
