This morning Taylor headed off with his school to science camp for 2 nights. I can hardly stand it that he's old enough to go on an outing on his own without his mommy or daddy.
As we put the final touches on packing him up (flashlight - check, toothbrush - check, lunch - check, secret hidden note from mommy - check), we were giving him hugs and kisses and some last words of love to help him to remember us fondly during a time we can't remind him. I said to him sappily, 'Taylor, we're all just going to miss you SOOO much!' Paige then piped in like any little sister, 'Not me!'
But tonight, our first night, our norm has been thrown off just a bit. Gabriel, who shares a room with Tay, had trouble catching some z's on his own and softly cried himself to sleep. Paige, who loves her brother more than she'll admit, remembered him in her prayers. Five times.

Oh my goodness. That is crazy. (How sweet that you have this written down (especially about Paige & her prayer) So sweet!
How delightful and companionable of Paige, Gabriel and his Mom and Dad to give Taylor such a touching send-off. Big brother will always be looked up to.
Awww I hope Taylor has a great time and the rest of you won't miss him too much! I'm sure he'll be back with lots of stories to share!
awww, now i miss taylor.
Awww, it's so nice to be loved and missed.
we miss taytay too! emma has tracked down the card you sent with the "drawings" of your family and now she can name everyone on it -- but taytay is her favorite.
