After a trying week, I didn't feel much up to being 'celebrated', but my sweet family came through anyway. I took full advantage of the sleeping-in privileges I was granted (8:30!) and served breakfast in bed. The kids and daddy sang 'Happy Mother's Day' and presented me with lovely cards. Paige's gift to me was to get along with Taylor the whole day (didn't quite make it, but good effort) and Taylor's was to stay off the computer for 2 weeks! Wow. Gabriel promises to remain darling. The kids and I attempted a walk, but already it is getting too hot too early and we only made it around the block. We made it to church a bit late, but made it nonetheless. It was a nice refresher to my week. Some days I need church just a little more than others. Before we left, I requested a mommy-child photo op which was met with some resistance, but we managed. Hopefully, when the kids look back on the pictures, the first thing that comes to mind will not be the threats through the smiling teeth that they'd better look happy in the photos. We really do love each other, I'd just like to capture it on film on occasion.
We topped off the evening at Grandma & Grandma Yancey's for dinner. Grandpa set up a badminton net and even had enough rackets for all the kids to challenge Grandma to a game.
It was a good day. I love these kids and I love being their mommy. I hope they can feel that every day.

this was the very first pic taken. he always looks like that now in pictures - hence the threats.
